what do people think of the CG tintin? i hoped and assumed it'd be retaining the look of the drawing, so am disappointed in the quasi-realism of the characters. seems like a random and overblown style decision... however, i still expect the movies to be good overall and look forward to them.

I wouldn't mind if it was just live action.
As for the CG, it could be worse.
I couldn't believe they didn't light up tintin's leg on that running/shadow still.

Aww... I didn't even know that it was gonna be a CGI movie... so disappointed that it will not be a live-action movie... and more disappointed by the look of the CGI...

When you're working on an already existing graphic material, either you respect the original graphic style, or you make a live-action version.

I was a big Tintin fan during my childhood and still like it, and I was pretty excited by the announce of a Spielberg film based on it. And now... all I can say: what a waste of time and money... :(

there are apparently some old live action tintin movies (or maybe just one?). it's be cool to see that... i haven't even seen the live action asterix and wish they'd get some kind of DVD release in north america (or maybe they have, which i haven't noticed).

Yeah, I've seen one of those old live action movies (I think there are two), long time ago.
The cast was pretty good concerning the physical appearance, but I think I remember that to be also too much artificial, maybe unnatural, I don't know.

Both movies had original stories, not based on any Tintin comic book, and that can explain why I've never had real interest in them.

i dont love or hate it yet... i need to see it in motion. jackson puts a lot of care into his flicks and speilberg... well he used to care so we will see.

I didn't realise the images were out :O It seems about as close to the original art as can be expected, I suppose. I'm more interested in seeing Pegg/Frost as the twins, actually :)

yes, i haven't really considered the voice acting, but i think they have good people in place.
