i was planning to write one of these journal entries about 'the spirit', as well as other unpopular superhero movies.

i am really curious of miami vice. although i really like michael mann, i never watched the original show and am not a fan of either lead actor... one night in mongkok i fully intend to like, i just have to find myself in the right mood.

AVP is horrid, i am sure. i'll sit through it at some point out of obligation to the creatures, as well as to spot local scenes, as it was filmed nearby my place.

the spirit has scarlett johansson...

miami vice was a surprice to me, i never see the TV series but the movie i like a lot. like Public Enemies was a surprice i don't like at all... and One nigh in mongkok is awesome crime drama i try to see more Derek Yee movies i se Lost in Time is really good and Shinguku Insident whit Jackie Chan is really good but only i don't like the abuse of bad things happend to good people.

i like the first AVP and i wait this one be more like Jason vs Freddy but was like a made for TV movie crap.

and the Spirit i love the art of the movie is beautifull, and the movie could rock but don't like the way Frank Miller manage the humor.

P.D. i have a lot of Asian Cinema and can recomend some movies that are true Jems for me. Like Save The Green Planet, Bittersweet Life, Memories of a Murder, Attack to the Gas Station, Once upon a time in highschool etc.

is it better than the first one? i thought the first was merely ok. i tend to like the authenticity of samurai-type movies from the 50's & early/mid 60's more than the over-the-top ones from the 70's (this is also why i've dragged my feet with finishing the lone wolf and cub series).

You might not like it as much then.Second film was less plot and more blood .Still a very decent film but I know what you know where you're coming from.

I stopped myself from commenting on some of your film choices but you've got some really good ones in there. Are you doing double features on some of them? Thematically, you have some easy pairings.

i rarely can make it all the way through a single movie, so double features don't really work out for me. you are right though - most on this list relate a few others. i tend to go nuts with a particular type of movie for a while and move on to another style before finishing with what i've gathered. hence this list!
