The movies I consider near-perfect follow below, in no preferential order...
- Black Hawk Down
- Europa Europa
- Lost in Translation
- The Thin Red Line
- Seven Samurai
- Sideways
- 300
- House of Flying Daggers
- Out of Sight
- Les Miserables (1998)
- Watchmen
- The Terminator
- Sanjuro
- The Pianist
- A Hero Never Dies
- About a Boy
- Shane
- Jason and the Argonauts
- Son-in-Law
- Chungking Express
- On Her Majestys Secret Service
- Incident at Blood Pass
Raiders of the Lost Ark would be on the list, as would Star Wars, however these have been forever tainted by the disrespect they have been given by their creator. I truly cant watch these anymore with any level of awe. (you didn't think i would make a journal entry without adding negativity, did you?)

House of flying daggers was way cool too. (tho i still prefer Hero, just because i saw that first, i think)
haven't seen the lazenby movie since i was a kid. just remember him in a turtle neck and wasn't impressed with how he looked. lol. maybe i need to revisit...
jason and the argonauts was on not too long ago, tuned it right at the skeleton fight and it still holds up pretty well. still impressive to see.
I agree with your selection of OHMSS; best James Bond film ever, and Lazenby was the best Bond. I remember watching that movie by myself one evening; very tense chase scenes, giddy relief at the climax, and then heartbroken shock during the last few minutes.
