Wow, this is really good. I like your use of muted colours, and the gradual blur of the characters as they recede into the background. The hints of mist on the ground and from the characters' mouths is a nice touch, as is the blurred branch in the foreground. Great stuff.

Is this a one-off piece? Looks like a panel from a graphic novel, it's so good.

hiya deadmeattf2 and thanks for your attention to detail! some of these WWII things i have posted were experiments in exactly the things you noticed. i was experimenting with knocking levels out of focus to gain more depth in a drawing. i was happy with the results but found it took a long time to seperate one drawing into a multi-layer project at the pencil stage...

i was going to try a WWII comic though i get too exhausted by the act of writing that i end up burning out and moving onto simpler things... oh well... one day i hope to work with a writer on some type of story.
:icondeadmeattf2:
Ah yes, writing... I know what you're talking about. I've been meaning to get around to illustrating a story which has been in my head for the past 20 years, but have yet to sit down and do it... plus my idea is something that will probably translate into several hundred pages, which kind of scares me lol.

That, and the fact I still have sooo much to learn with my artwork before I'm willing to commit myself to such a project... It looks like you've pretty much got your illustrative skills and style worked out. If you get a good writer, no doubt you'll produce a killer comic/graphic novel. Don't give up!
