Hey, just joined the site to tell you - I found this image on Google and I plan on using it for some play-by-post gaming. I GIMPed it a bit to fit the character, but this is -by far- the best image I was able to find. Your work is really great and for the myriads of folks looking for high-quality SW images, I thank you!

hello bws2k and thanks for looking and your kind compliments... honestly, i don't know what to think of your comments concerning your use of my image, because i have not heard of and do not understand what 'play-by-post gaming' is. occasionally people tell me similar things regarding they have found my images and now use them for something or other. as in your case, they often modify my image to suit their needs.

i submit my images onto the internet knowing that once i do, i cannot control how people might use them. i intend to showcase the images and hope they can be appreciated as is. i do not submit images with the intention of inviting anyone to use or alter them for whatever they want. images found here on deviantart or through google searches (or anywhere on the internet for that matter) are not void of ownership. while i cannot control it, i don't condone any images being used by anyone without having an agreement with the creator and/or owner.

1) Play-by-posting is a method of playing games, usually roleplaying games. In this case I had made a droid character and was looking for a good picture to fit him.

2) Would you prefer I not use it then? I don't mind taking it down, though I think folks at the site have already seen it (and know it's not mine). You're welcome to see my alterations as well. I just used GIMP:

I was a studio art major in school but my work is mostly larger oil paintings and I haven't done much in the last several years. I completely understand the ownership concerns, which is why I came here in the first place - to compliment your pieces. Let me know what's up, and either way keep up the good work! :)

would i prefer you not to use it? as i said, i post my images without any intention of having them used or altered by others. i am not aiming to create assets for people i don't know or providing a pool of public-domain freebies. i can't control what happens with my drawings, do what you will, but don't expect approval.

And here we are seven months later, and I'll just let you know I did take it down - both your original and the modified versions. I'm not sure why the link above still shows it, but I took it off of Photobucket. Keep up the good work! :)

Looks kind of like a Rodian Protocol Droid.
Whats that sticking out of his back? The thing with the chord?

right, that was the idea with this - a rodian protocol droid. as for the thing on his back, i have no idea. just whatever his owner makes him lug around.

thanks for the comment.

And what about the skirt? Just there for looks or is it to protect the droid's legs from shrapnel?
